The Challenge

Options trading requires structured decision-making, yet most retail traders operate without a consistent evaluation framework. Emotional bias, inconsistent risk sizing, and outcome-based thinking often distort judgment. While reviewing trades could improve consistency, traditional journaling requires manual data entry and subjective self-assessment, which many traders avoid.

The problem was not simply data tracking. It was the absence of a standardized grading system, real-time structural feedback, and a portfolio-level overview that shows overall exposure, risk concentration, and quality distribution across positions.

The objective was to build a system that removes manual friction while introducing measurable structure, accountability, and portfolio-wide clarity.

Our Solution

A platform was developed that converts a simple trade screenshot into a structured evaluation and integrates that evaluation into a broader portfolio framework.

The system operates in two stages. First, it extracts structured trade data directly from the uploaded image, standardizing contract details such as strike, expiration, cost basis, and option metrics. Second, it analyzes both the position and the chart context to determine structural quality.

Each trade receives a formal grading system that includes a numerical Quality Score on a 0–10 scale and a corresponding letter grade from A through F. The Quality Score reflects structural alignment, time to expiration, option selection, and price behavior relative to key technical levels. The letter grade provides a fast visual summary of overall trade quality.

Beyond grading, each position includes a clearly defined Recommended Action such as Hold, Reduce Size, or Close. This action is generated based on structural integrity rather than profit or loss. The system also produces a written Final Verdict summarizing whether the trade is structurally sound, speculative, or misaligned with trend conditions.

To support execution discipline, an integrated alert system allows users to set structured price alerts tied to their thesis. Alerts monitor key levels such as support, resistance, or invalidation zones, reinforcing rule-based decision-making.

At the portfolio level, a comprehensive dashboard provides a high-level summary of all active positions. This includes total active trades, average portfolio quality score, total capital at risk, and exposure metrics such as high-theta concentration. Grade distribution charts display how positions are spread across letter grades, while risk allocation visuals show overall exposure balance. Risk flags automatically identify structural issues such as excessive time decay exposure or speculative positioning.

Each individual trade report feeds into this larger portfolio summary, creating a continuous feedback loop between position-level structure and overall account discipline.

The Results

The outcome is a structured evaluation framework rather than a simple journaling tool. Every trade is graded objectively, assigned a clear action plan, and summarized with a final structural verdict. Traders can see not only whether a single position is sound, but also how their entire portfolio ranks in terms of quality and risk concentration.

The Quality Score standardizes evaluation. The letter grade simplifies interpretation. The Recommended Action provides operational clarity. The Final Verdict delivers a concise structural conclusion. The alert system reinforces predefined rules. The portfolio dashboard reveals overall exposure and discipline at a glance.

What was once fragmented and subjective becomes measurable, consistent, and organized at both the position and portfolio level.
